iPhone 13 models receive certification by Eurasian regulatory months before the expected launch
Apple is gearing up for the launch of the next generation of iPhones expected in September this year. To meet the timeline, the company has already started filing for certification of these smartphones in certain regions.
New online reports reveal that a total of seven new iPhone models have been granted certification by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The certification requires all hardware using encryption technology to be registered in EEC’s database.
The listing reveals little about the devices other than their model numbers. As of now, seven new iPhone models with numbers – A2628, A2630, A2634, A2635, A2640, A2643 and A2645 have been granted certification.
The certification has been highlighted in a Consomac report, as mentioned by 9to5mac. Since it takes time to gain such certifications, smartphone makers usually tend to complete the necessary processes well in advance of a product launch.
There are also hints to be seen in such certification listings. However, this time, the only information that is seen on the certifications is that all of the seven iPhone devices are running on iOS 14.
The iPhone 13 lineup is expected to include four new models of iPhones this year. However, it cannot be said which of the model number mentioned above corresponds to which iPhone 13 variant.
Apple has been rumoured to ramp up the camera capabilities of the iPhone with its upcoming series. New ultrawide cameras are speculated to arrive on all iPhone 13 variants, while the Pro models are rumoured to have sensor-shift stabilization on both main and ultrawide lens.
It has also been speculated that Apple will ramp up the battery capacity on its new iPhones. This will also be in part to support the OLED displays expected to come on all the variants of the iPhone 13.
Apple is currently conducting the Worldwide Developers Conference and has announced several software updates through the five-day virtual event. You can check out these important updates on iOS 15 here.
