Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro likely to come with a new Touch Bar design

Apple has long been rumoured to be working on a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Previous reports suggested that the company could launch the new laptop alongside the iPhone 11 series iPhones. Apple did launch a bunch of new devices at the iPhone 11 launch event but none of them were the rumoured MacBook Pro laptop. But the missed launch deadline hasn’t diminished the spirits and now we have a new report which gives us fresh insights into the design of the new 16-inch MacBook Pro.
Folks at 9To5 Mac have spotted an image of purpoted new device hidden inside macOS Catalina version 10.15.1. The image shows that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would come with a distinct Touch ID and Touch Bar. Simply said, Touch ID button will not be a part of the Touch Bar which has been the case with MacBook Pro laptops ever since the time Apple first introduced Touch ID in its MacBook Pro laptops.
The report also notes that the new MacBook Pro laptop will also come with a separate Escape key, which would be different from its software equivalent that is present in the existing Apple laptops.
Meanwhile, previous reports suggest that the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which would be the biggest laptop model since the Cupertino, California based company discontinued its 17-inch MacBook Pro back in 2012. It would also replace the existing 15.4-inch model.
As far as the features and specifications are concerned, the upcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to run on Intel’s Coffee Lake-H mobile processor series. While the new laptop is expected to measure same as the 15-inch models, it is expected to feature slimmer bezels, which in turn would give it more screen space. The 16-inch MacBook Pro would come with an LCD display with a screen resolution of 3072 x 1920 pixel. This would be slightly sharper than the 2880 x 1800 pixel Retina display in the existing models. Beyond this, one of the biggest updates that it would feature would be in terms of the keyboard design. Apple is expected to ditch its butterfly keyboard to switch back to the scissor design.
